Okuma Introduces the MU-6300V LASER EX and MULTUS U3000 LASER EX, the World’s First Next-Generation Multitasking Machines that Perform High-Definition Additive Manufacturing of Metals
The newly developed MU-6300V LASER EX and MULTUS U3000 LASER EX smart machines achieve the ultimate in process-intensive machining with integration of the latest in laser machining.
LASER EX series machines are the first in the world to achieve the ultimate in process-intensive machining, performing hardening and metal additive fabrication in addition to milling, turning and grinding on a single machine. As smart machines that support mass customization, or as additive manufacturing technology solutions that can meet the quality demands for key aircraft components, the LASER EX series opens new manufacturing possibilities and creates new value.
The LASER EX series has now been expanded to a total of five models—MU-8000V LASER EX, MU-6300V LASER EX, MU-5000V LASER EX, MULTUS U4000 LASER EX, and MULTUS U3000 LASER EX—to accommodate many different kinds of workpieces. The MU-8000V LASER EX is the world’s largest metal additive manufacturing machine, capable of handling workpiece sizes of ø1000 mm. The MU-6300V LASER EX, MULTUS U3000 LASER EX were exhibited at JIMTOF 2016 in Tokyo.
